About our organisation
Groundwork South Tees was launched in October 2000 and now employs 16 permanent staff based in our offices in Middlesbrough and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
Groundwork South Tees is a well established trust covering the vibrant Tees Valley conurbation, down the attractive north east coastline and into the popular North York Moors National Park.
Groundwork South Tees’s mission is ‘to build sustainable communities through joint environmental action.’
Groundwork’s role in the boroughs of Redcar and Cleveland, Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees is to complement and add value to the work of existing organisations contributing to sustainable regeneration. It will work within the Groundwork themes of:
- People - creating opportunities for people to learn new skills and take local action.
- Places - creating better, safer and healthier neighbourhoods.
- Prosperity - helping businesses and individuals fulfil their potential.
